Co-operative programme for monitoring and evaluation
of the long-range transmissions of air pollutants in Europe
   
Input data

 

In order to simulate deposition and concentrations of heavy metals and POPs the models need a number of input information. First of all, it is information about atmospheric emissions of the considered pollutants. Another type of data is meteorological information, which is necessary for calculation of pollutant dispersion by atmospheric flows and their removal. Finally, geophysical information describes various characteristics of the environment important for modeling. Most of the input data used by MSCE-HM, MSCE-POP and GLEMOS models are described below.
